When Pepe arrived at the school, he was amazed to see that it was located right across the street from the beach. Pepe loved the view, and thought he would love the school, but the other children were not as nice as he thought. The children called him “barefoot boy” and all laughed. Pepe paid them no mind, but they kept teasing, and teasing, until Pepe began to cry. The teacher told everyone to settle down, and told Pepe that it was okay, and things would get better soon.

That day Pepe went home sad, with his head down low. Pepe thought of something that would make him happy. Pepe then took his drums, and went back outside to play. None of the other children would play with Pepe because no one knew him, and he had no shoes. Pepe sat down in front of his Uncles house, and began to play his drums.
